McQueens Dairies

A doorstep milk and grocery delivery business, now running customer, subscription and delivery data through a governed Azure Databricks lakehouse.

The challenge

Where they started

McQueens Dairies runs on Microsoft Dynamics 365 for customer management and Chargebee for subscription billing, with delivery operations that depend on both staying in step. Data from these systems needed to be brought together reliably, with upstream changes to CRM and billing logic tracked before they reached reporting. As the business grew, the Azure estate also needed tighter security and governance, with clear separation between environments and no standing privileged access.

What we did

The platform we built

We delivered an Azure Databricks lakehouse built on Delta Live Tables, with Unity Catalog governing storage through managed identities and separate UAT and production environments deployed through Databricks Asset Bundles. Deployment and runtime identities were split into dedicated service principals under a role-based access model. Across the Azure landing zones we remediated Defender for Cloud findings, moved permanent privileged role assignments to Privileged Identity Management, and assessed upstream D365 and Chargebee changes for their impact on the data warehouse.
